Q1. Hello. Mr. 10CM. It is a pleasure to meet you. Please introduce yourself briefly and describe your current activities. 

I am 10CM, a singer-songwriter. I have released my fifth full-length album after eight years, and I am actively promoting it. 

Q2. You have been well loved for a long time under the name 10CM. Which values have you regarded as most important in terms of “creation” throughout your music career? (This includes attitude toward creation, principles when writing songs, etc.)

It is important to engage and entertain your listeners with care, while taking responsibility for the work you produce through sustained effort.

Q3. Your music showcases unique and emotionally engaging lyrics. Where do you usually draw ideas for them? Also, if you have a special experience in which an unexpected moment sparked inspiration, please share it with us.

I spend a lot of time trying to incorporate material and stories into my songs so they resonate with the lives of my listeners. Then, unexpectedly, I get fascinating ideas in a very one-dimensional way. For example, I might write “Americano” while having coffee with friends, or “Youth Gone Wild in Africa” after listening to a drummer friend's story about his trip to Africa. I feel thrilled in the process.

Q4. There are numerous great songs that have been covered and parodied. Are there any songs that have been performed so often that you think, “This is my song?” What is your personal reaction to watching fan cover videos?.

I have most often encountered “Stalker” cover videos. When I hear vocalists express sadness and depth greater than my own, it feels as if they have stolen my song. 

Q5. Have you ever personally experienced unauthorized use of your music or copyright infringement? Please describe how those experiences have shaped your creative work and your understanding of copyright.

I have not personally experienced it, but I have encountered such cases frequently, and that is why I believe protecting the copyright of creative works is truly important.

Q6. What message would you offer to music creators and music fans today?

Time feels increasingly fast-paced, and the world has become more complex, yet many people continue to find happiness and solace in music. Many musicians, including myself, are dedicated to producing exceptional music, so please listen and enjoy it. 

Q7. Finally, considering the role of the “2025 Copyright Protection Campaign Ambassador,” what are your thoughts and your approach to this?

I feel very proud, yet burdened with great responsibility. I will work diligently to thoroughly consider copyright protection and actively spread the message to more people.
